TOGETHER FOR A WORLD FREE FROM LEPROSY

AIFO INDIA
AIFO (Amici di Raoul Follereau) has been working in India for several decades to support persons affected by leprosy through medical care, rehabilitation and social inclusion initiatives, in close alignment with the National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP). Registered in 1998, AIFO India continues to carry forward the vision and commitment of Dr V. Ekambaram, who played a significant role in advancing leprosy eradication efforts in the country.
Over the years, AIFO has supported leprosy programmes across 14 states. Currently, AIFO works in Karnataka and Assam with a focus on leprosy control, disability rehabilitation and social inclusion.
Our present programmes mainly focus on hard-to-reach and marginalized communities, including persons affected by leprosy and persons with disabilities. We work closely with government systems, community institutions and grassroots stakeholders to promote early detection, disability prevention and management, rehabilitation, inclusive education and community participation.
