ILEP’S MEMBER ASSOCIATIONS ARE WORKING
TOGETHER FOR A WORLD FREE FROM LEPROSY

ILEP
ILEP
INDIA

ILEP is a consortium of international non-governmental organisations with a shared desire to see a world free from leprosy, and an acknowledgment that none of us can achieve this on our own. ILEP members raise funds from public and institutional sources. Through the programmes of the member associations, ILEP spans more than 60 countries and 1,000 project locations worldwide. In the fight against leprosy, ILEP and its members work with people affected by leprosy, Ministries of Health and other government departments, Global Partnership for Zero Leprosy, World Health Organization, other NGOs and civil society organisations, and Novartis, which donates multi-drug therapy for leprosy.

Membership of ILEP enhances the capacity of the member associations to work towards the common goal of A world without leprosy. ILEP member programmes support the development and sustenance of quality leprosy services with a focus on the ‘three zeroes’:

ZERO TRANMISSION

ILEP researchers strive to identify new tools to cut transmission, while practitioners strive to make the best use of what is currently known in case-finding and treatment, and share leprosy expertise with government programmes and other partners.

Zero Disabilities

Through prompt treatment, expertise and the teaching of self-care, ILEP members help prevent nerve damage and disability. They also provide hospital care for leprosy complications and socio-economic rehabilitation.

Zero Stigma and Discrimination

ILEP members promote the inclusion of people affected by leprosy and their family members by tackling unjust laws and all forms of anti-leprosy prejudice and exclusion.
