DFIT - Damien Foundation India Trust

Damien Foundation is one among the nine international NGOs (ILEP) involved in leprosy control activities in India. The activities are conducted in collaboration with NGOs, civil society, private institutions, and government. Damien Foundation began to involve in Leprosy Control programme since 1955. Damien Foundation covers several projects which provides direct patient care services, through its own projects and in collaboration with local NGOs. The evolution of the involvement of Damien Foundation in Leprosy and TB control in India is the history of a fascinating journey with compulsive challenges and opportunities. This transition was based on both perception and felt need in connection with the evolution that has been taken place in general health care including leprosy programmes.
