Zero transmission

Early identification of leprosy and avoid the possible chain of transmission is the key to reaching the goal of zero transmission. AIFO India used comprehensive approach to achieve the zero transmission

  • Enhance Govt health care system including Doctors, Nurse, and ASHA workers capacity of leprosy case detection, diagnosis, management and referrals.
  • Enhance community understating about leprosy and “Community Based Case Detection ((CBID)” as a strategic approach towards early detection of leprosy.
  • Special action plan (SAP) developed and implemented in tea gardens in Assam state for early detection of leprosy.
  • Leprosy Case Detection Campaign (LCDC), and Focused leprosy campaign (FLC) activities in hard to reach area in north east India where geographical reach is difficult and border conflict is existing.
Our challenges:   Manpower resources and financial resource to serve the people affected by leprosy in different hard to reach area is a major concern.
