Case story of Ritesh
Ritesh Das, 45/M, MB (A). He runs a Sports equipment shop and his family consists of his wife, five-year-old daughter and mother.
My name is Rudrapati Vijitha, and my parents are Ravi Babu and Mariyamma. I belong to a village called Emani in Duggirala Mandal in Guntur District. I am 13 years old and studying 8th class. We belong to a scheduled caste and both of my parents are daily laborers. We don’t have any agricultural land, and my parents are fully dependent on agricultural work. We are three daughters to our parents, and we all are studying in the nearest government schools. I am the elder one. All of our family fully depend on our father’s income only.
One day, my father found some pale color patches on my body. As these patches are not irritating or itching, we ignored these. But then after a few days, these patches gradually increased in size, and my parent took me to GRETNALTES hospital which is located at nearby our village. The doctor at GRETNALTES examined me and diagnosed me of leprosy. They arranged leprosy treatment through government health staff.
I was ashamed and depressed about the fact that I got leprosy. I stopped going out and playing with friends and used to hide in the rooms. Almost stopped going to school. My parents took me to GRETNALTES and once again they saved me. I was counseled by the staff, they showed me photographs of how these patches fade away with treatment. They motivated me that I will be alright and continue to do the same activities I was doing earlier.
Being motivated I continued the treatment and soon found the result that the patches started fading away. I completed my treatment and whenever needed went to GRETNALTES and they helped me without any hesitation. I am giving thanks to all the staff of GRETNALTES.
I want to thank all of you who have supported my treatment at GRETNALTES, without your support, it would have not been possible for me to regain my confidence back. Thank you
