Case story of Ritesh
Ritesh Das, 45/M, MB (A). He runs a Sports equipment shop and his family consists of his wife, five-year-old daughter and mother.
I am Devath Samatha, 14 years of age studying in 9th standard. My parents are Narasimha and Bhagya Lakshmi. We belong scheduled tribe and my father is an auto driver, and my mother is a housewife, but sometimes she goes as a daily labourer. I have one younger brother, he has been studying in 6th standard. We are very poor and fully depend upon my father’s income. As we didn’t have our own house, we have been living rented house.
Three years back, my mother found reddish patches all over my body. I suffered a lot from fever and my forearm and knees also gave me unbearable pain. The patch became red and swollen. Before we could make a visit to the nearest hospital, our neighbour suggested we to visit GRETNALTES.
We reached GRETNALTES and immediately they examined me and diagnosed me with leprosy with reaction. Soon after diagnosis I was admitted for reaction treatment and got the leprosy medicines (MDT) simultaneously.
I got demotivated hearing of leprosy. But the staff of GRETNALTES counselled me, motivated me and explained to me about leprosy and its reaction. I felt happy and finished my treatment at GRETNALTES and returned home. The MDT treatment continued, and I stopped after one year in consultation with the government health department.
Now, I am continuing my study, playing with my friends and doing my normal activities.
I convey my wholehearted thanks to the GRETNALTES and keep in everlasting remembrance of their hospitality and help.
I also thank all of you who have supported my treatment at GRETNALTES and made me leprosy free. Thank you all.
